Welcome to Xandra Ceramics.

Hello, my name is Xandra Veal. I discovered the joy of working with clay in 1995 after attending pottery evening classes and soon realised that one night a week would not be enough to satisfy my ceramic cravings! I therefore decided to source my own materials and purchase a small electric kiln - which I still use today.

Whilst living in the UK I sold my ceramics through local craft shops and took commissions but it wasn’t until we moved to France that I was able to realise my dream and create my own pottery studio.

About the pottery.

La Fermette is an old longére farmhouse situated in an idyllic rural location 1km outside the village of Anjouin in the Centre region of France. At one end of the building is the old piggery, which I converted to a pottery studio in 2007 with the help of my partner Bob.

From here I run pottery courses in France for both local residents and holiday visitors. You will find details of scheduled ceramic classes on the COURSES page but if these don't fit with your timetable please get in touch and I'll try to arrange something suitable for you.
